
Impressionist Landscape Assessment Notification
The Impressionist Landscape Assessment Notification invites students to explore the expressive and transitory qualities of light, color, and atmosphere through the lens of the Impressionist movement. Inspired by the works of Claude Monet and other key artists of the period, students will create a landscape painting that reflects the ever-changing beauty of nature. The task encourages deep reflection on the fleeting nature of light, while also linking artistic practice to influences.
Learning Goals:
- Artistic Technique: Develop technical skills using Impressionist painting techniques, including short, thick brushstrokes and vibrant color palettes to capture light and atmosphere.
- Artworld Concepts: Understand and apply key Artworld concepts (Artist, Artwork, Audience, and World) to create a meaningful landscape artwork that demonstrates the relationship between the artist's intention and their medium.
